Key Magicard features
Card encoding enables electronic data to be written to the card as it is being printed. Magicard ID card printers support a wide range of integrated card encoding options.
All Magicard ID card printers can be specified with ISO standard 7811 compatible HiCo encoding of magnetic stripe cards. Magicard’s double coercivity HiCo/LoCo magnetic stripe encoder offers encoding of all three tracks with total user format flexibility.
ISO7816 contact chip encoding in combination with contactless encoding such as MIFARE, DESFire and iClass can be specified autonomously or in combination with a magnetic stripe encoder option. Other specialist encoding devices are available on request with all professional series printers.
Rewritable cards have one glossy side in PVC for colour or monochrome dye sublimation printing and a matt finish side with a blue or black thermochromic sensitive material that can be reprinted up to 500 times.
Buy now choose later – the single-sided models of the Enduro+ and Rio Pro are field-upgradable to double-sided operation by installing a simple drop-in upgrade kit.
Network connectivity enhances operational efficiency, especially for large facilities with multiple ID card printers such as government, universities and corporate campuses. Ethernet connectivity comes as standard with the Rio Pro and Prima 4 and is available as a drop-in field upgrade for the Enduro+ ID card printer.
An ICC profile standardises and controls colour during the printing process. Magicard’s ICC profiles ensure that colour attributes of the source image are mapped accurately to the printer. This process underpins the superior printing and colour reproduction qualitites of both the Enduro+ ID card printer and Rio Pro ID card printer.
